What's Happenin' at Collision

Below is a brief summary of what we have been talking about recently.  Most of the time we teach through a series for several weeks at a time that way students that miss can get caught back up quickly, and so we can dissect a topic more fully than just a one night deal. Use the overview and questions for both you and your teen to answer and have a dialog that continues outside the church walls and into your homes.  Use this opportunity to see what God is teaching your student and also allow your student to see what God is teaching/taught you.

This Week at Collision

Series Overview

With this series we are putting the students in the driver's seat and allowing them to directly choose the next week's topic.  Students can vote for their preferred topic by using our "Full Circle App" or by going to the webpage linked to the QR code below.  Voting goes until Mondays at noon, then that next Wednesday the wining topic will be the nights lesson and discussion.  The topics are all the hard topics facing our culture today; from gay marriage, divorce, and abortion to being single, end times and love.

Week 5 (2015-02-11)

Tonight is a topic that will eventually apply to just about all our teens....dating.  They hear so many messages from our culture and the sub-culture that is their friends, that it's hard to hear what the Lord might be saying to them.  Tonight we will tackle some messages the world sends vs what the Bible says and some practical tips for dating with a biblical filter.

Intentional Interaction

How have your views changed on dating?
Do you think the world is better off dating their way or God's way? Why and why not?
How can you start to honor God through your dating relationships?

Week 5 (2015-02-04)

Tonight is one we were really looking forward to teaching on...and it was an overwhelming winner of the majority of the votes.  Drum role please.....Judgmental Christians. OK, we all know our world is full of individuals we all think are judgmental.  And, chances are, if you've lived on this sphere for more than a second or two, you have felt the brunt of you fair share of judging....maybe you've even judged others.  Tonight we take a look at what Christs says about this little topic and how the church has gotten it's priorities all out of whack over the recent decades.  We also draw one HUGE distinction between accountability and judging.

Intentional Interaction

How has the church gotten things mixed up?
Who is the law for and who is the Word for?
Have you ever been judged in the way Jesus spoke out against?  What did that feel like?
Have you judged others in this way? Do you think you will again without thinking of the words of Christ?
